AUDITORIUM - Massey Hall |
 Built in 1894 by industrial baron Hart Massey (1823-96), the 'grande dame of music halls' soon became internationally famous as Canada's most important venue for concerts and lectures. Home to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir until 1982, Massey Hall has also attracted such luminaries as Enrico Caruso, Eleanor Roosevelt, George Gershwin, Glenn Gould, Oscar Peterson, Maria Callas and Luciano Pavarotti. Echoing this rich history is the hall's unique ambience; a fusion of the building's original Moorish-style architecture and a 1933 Art Deco-inspired renovation that continues to welcome and impress.
For over 100 years, Massey Hall has been one of Canada's favourite venues.
